I offer a complimentary thirty-minute consultation service to review and address your specific needs.
I can provide your staff and faculty with in-service training on equity, emotional and social skills, inclusive practices, poverty and trauma effects that impact educational success. I provide practical, adaptable and implementable skills that benefit students, educators, and communities.

Bachelor of Sciences in elementary education, summa cum laude.
Master's in teaching, specializing in emotional impairments and learning disabilities, magna cum laude.
Bachelor's and Master's degrees obtained from Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, Michigan.
A Doctorate of Philosophy in Special Education, with a concentration in learning and behavior disorders, cum laude was earned and awarded from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I served for 25 years in a mental health services position in South-Eastern Michigan where special education services and special needs program were provided to citizens of all ages and backgrounds.
I had the honor and privilege of serving for 14 years in the Port Huron Area School District in the education program. I taught Special Education classes, co-taught in English, Science, Social Studies and Math. I helped to produce a school-wide PBIS, special services program that was recognized by the State of Michigan for its excellence.
I earned and was awarded a position on the advisory board for the Council for Exceptional Children in the State of Michigan. I served as a contributor for reading intervention.
I currently hold an Assistant Professorship position in Special Education at Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska.
I have presented on poverty, equity, behavior and universal design for learning topics at the local, national and international levels.
Individual research topics on trauma, poverty and inclusive practices.
Published works on parental perceptions of effective educators.

My passion is helping educators provide the best possible learning environment for all children. This means helping teachers and administrators keep their passion for teaching burning and the community informed on what our children need to be as successful as they can be.
When I am not teaching, my husband and I enjoy cooking, gardening, traveling and being with our four-legged family.
Family is important to me so I try to make sure that my family knows that they are as important to me as teaching.
